Britannia Stored At Nene Valley Railway After Failure! Swedish Railcar Returns & HST Repaint

Firstly Swedish Y7 Railcar 1212 Helga & 1987 Hagar Trailer Car have returned to service after 18 months of being unused with Helga needing an entire roof replacement and repaint as well as an interior refresh.

Next Standard Class 7 70000 Britannia made an unexpected visit to NVR to be stationed at Wansford yard after a overheating bearing caused her to fail on Wednesday 23rd July London Kings Cross - York Charter, with the hope that the issue can be resolved using NVR's workshop and she can the depart again via the mainline.

60163 Tornado also remains stabled at NVR so the team can do some light maintenance and await her next mainline duties.

Danish E Class Pacific Locomotive 996 Continues her ongoing cosmetic restoration into a menacing looking plain black livery, with the long term goal to have operational in the future, however this is dictated by funding & volunteer numbers.

Class 43 HST Powercar 43060 has been fully repainted into its Rail200 livery similar to that of the GNER Blue livery that some HST's would wear on the mainline. And lastly but most definitely not least, a vehicle that isn't often appreciated by the regular visitor of NVR & Railworld is the RTV 31. The tracked hovercraft has been the showpiece of Railworld since it was donated in 1996. The beam on which the RTV 31 is resting has been condemned, and the structural integrity of the vehicle itself has weakened. As of July 2025, side panels are being removed so it can be assessed whether it can be lifted down safely, which will probably have to happen in parts. Whether it remains a showpiece of Railworld, nobody's is quite sure, however after looking inside under the panels, it isn't looking likely.
