Hello you all :)
Things we need to create Japanese Floating art (also known as Suminagashi art):-
1. Colors: Fluid-Acrylic colors or water-colors or diluted Acrylic colors or Ink
2. Paper: (I used water-colour paper), you may also use A4 sheet printer paper, or any unsized paper.
3. Brushes: Any brush with fine narrow tip
4. Alum: (optional) treating paper with alum give a more brighter and stronger print.
And of course water and a container
-Mix alum with a cup of water and wipe the alum mixture on a sheet of paper. Put the sheet away to dry (Alum causes colours to set on the paper).
-If the paper is not treated with alum the art result might come out very faded)
-Pour water in a tray.
-Remove or pick out any dust from the surface of the water
-Dip the brushes into the paint and start the suminagashi process as shown in the video.
-Touch only the tip of the brush on the water surface. (If the brush is dipped any further, the paint might settle on the bottom of the container)
-Try with different type of colors. (using suminagashi ink gives the best results. It's very expensive though)
