मुझे वह समय याद है---
जब धूप का एक टुकड़ा सूरज की उंगली थाम कर
अंधेरे का मेला देखता उस भीड़ में खो गया।

सोचती हूँ: सहम और सूनेपन का एक नाता है
मैं इसकी कुछ नहीं लगती
पर इस छोटे बच्चे ने मेरा हाथ थाम लिया।

तुम कहीं नहीं मिलते
हाथ को छू रहा है एक नन्हा सा गर्म श्वास
न हाथ से बहलता है न हाथ को छोड़ता है।

अंधेरे का कोई पार नही
मेले के शोर में भी खामोशी का आलम है
और तुम्हारी याद इस तरह जैसे धूप का एक टुकड़ा।

Process:

Apply a thick and even coat of Mod podge on the plate

Remove all the ply from Decoupage tissue
(Some tissues have two ply, while some have three)

Stick the tissue in the plate upside down. So that the darker side is visible through the plate.

Once the the mod podge dries out, apply another layer of it on the top of the paper.

Remove the excess tissue using scissors.

At this stage, if you like the slight transparent look of the plate, you can keep it that way.

I personally like to put a layer of white paint on top of the tissue so that the plate becomes more opaque and the print of the tissue is more visible.

Finish it off with applying another layer of Mod podge to seal off the plate.

I used Dishwasher safe Mod podge. Its cure time is almost 20 days. After 20 days you can even wash the plates and the decoupage won't get destroyed.

Tips: be very gentle with the tissue. It's very thin and fragile.

Be patient and let the Mod podge dry out completely before applying the paint.

To make it dishwasher safe, make sure the tissue is thorouhly stuck to the plate and there are no gaps.

If you want the plates entirely for decoration, you don't need a dishwasher safe Mod podge.
