History of Itikaf and Eid ul-Fitr in Kaaba
Itikaf at Kaaba: A Sacred Tradition
Itikaf is a deeply spiritual practice observed during the last ten days of Ramadan. Worshippers seclude themselves in mosques to devote their time to prayer, recitation of the Quran, and seeking closeness to Allah. The Kaaba, located in Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, holds a special significance for Itikaf, as it is the holiest site in Islam.
The tradition of Itikaf traces back to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who regularly performed Itikaf during Ramadan, particularly in the last ten days, to seek Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree). The Kaaba has remained a focal point for this practice, attracting thousands of worshippers worldwide seeking spiritual purification.
Eid ul-Fitr at Kaaba: A Celebration of Devotion
Eid ul-Fitr, also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast, marks the end of Ramadan and is celebrated with great reverence at the Kaaba. This joyous occasion is preceded by the solemn and reflective period of Itikaf. On the morning of Eid, pilgrims and worshippers gather in Masjid al-Haram for the special Eid prayer, expressing gratitude for the blessings received during Ramadan.
Historically, Eid at the Kaaba has been a moment of unity, where millions of Muslims stand together in prayer, regardless of nationality or background. The Kaaba serves as the heart of this global gathering, where believers celebrate Eid with prayers, supplications, and acts of charity, fulfilling the command of Zakat al-Fitr to support the less fortunate.
Combining Itikaf and Eid ul-Fitr at the Kaaba is a profound experience, symbolizing devotion, renewal, and gratitude. It remains a cherished tradition for those who seek the ultimate spiritual journey in Islam's holiest sanctuary.
Thanks for your amazing support! I can't wait to share the next video from Madina Munawara at the Prophet's Mosque. জাযাকাল্লাহ খায়ের
