About the Mantras:
These 3 Mantras are taken from Rigveda; Mandala-1, Sukta-114, Mantras; 1,2 and 7.
These Mantras also appears in Krishna Yajurveda – Sri Rudram with some modification.
We have given the text in Sanskrit with svara markings as per Saakala Saakha of Rig Veda.

NOTE- Please watch the first 20 seconds carefully to understand the recital method of Rig Veda

1. The Vedic recitation is as per the method followed in Tamil Nadu, India. This form of recitation takes lot of breath because, the Maatra for svarita/dheerga svarita is more.
2. You can observe, the Dheerga svarita is also indicated by single svarita mark unlike Taittiriya Sakha of Krishna Yajur Veda.
3. There is NO "Gm" in Rigveda, though Anusvaara is followed by Ushma (sa, sha, Sa) and ra.
4. While reciting Ghana Patha, the reverse order of the words will be changed to "Pada Paatha" form, which complicates the Ghana recitation further.


Meaning of these Mantras:
Mantra 1:
We offer this prayer songs (Hymn) and adoration to Rudra, who is omnipotent, lord of mercy and justice. He is the father and protector of the brave. For the sake of worshippers of the Rudra, let Rudra orders for peace and joy among the humans and animals and all life on earth. Let the environment be healthy and happy in this village (settlement).

Mantra 2:
Rudra, be kind to us, be good and give us peace, comfort and good health. We respect you, (the leader and protector of the brave) with oblations and salutations. The peace and freedom which Manu, (the father of humanity, procured and secured for us) we pray you, to attain under your kind guidance.

Mantra 3
O Rudra; Lord of mercy and justice; Dont disturb our great men, saints, scholars and our seniors. Dont strike our children. Dont slay our youth. Dont kill the fetus in the womb. Dont kill our father and mother. Dont hurt our lovely bodies and our beloved wives.
