Farewell to an Unforgettable Journey – Until the Next Adventure

After more than three months filled with adventures, encounters, natural wonders, and countless emotional moments, our great journey through Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand is coming to an end.

We spent our final two days once more in Melbourne – this fascinating, vibrant city that captured our hearts with its openness, cultural diversity, and laid-back atmosphere.

We used the remaining time to wander through the streets, visit cozy cafés, soak up the art and architecture – and let the impressions of the past weeks truly sink in. One last time, we admired the skyline, gazed out over the Yarra River, listened to the life of the city, and felt both grounded and fulfilled.

And as if nature itself had orchestrated a fitting farewell, a group of white cockatoos accompanied us with their loud screeching – a feathered send-off and a final greeting from Australia.

With these images in our minds, we began our journey home: from Melbourne via Dubai to Frankfurt, where this adventure began – and now ends, full of memories.

Looking Back on a Special Journey

What remains are countless photos and videos, but most importantly: feelings.
The breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand, the wildlife encounters with dolphins, sea lions, kiwis, albatrosses, and wallabies. The quiet moments at Lake Tekapo, the roaring Milford Sound waterfalls, the remote bays, and wild beaches.
The friendly people we met – who welcomed us, shared meals, offered advice, or simply smiled at us.

We stayed in churches, slept on hilltops, captured cinematic drone shots, hiked across glaciers, and watched koalas in the trees.
We crossed the Cook Strait by ferry, rode the train through the South Island, sailed through Akaroa Harbour, and sped past fur seals by jet boat. And along the way, we discovered a little more of ourselves.

And of course, to the many wonderful hosts who gave us a home away from home – in Airbnbs, tiny houses, lodges, and special places full of soul and scenic views.

Now it’s time to arrive. To let everything settle.
And one day, to set off again – because while this journey may be over, the desire to travel remains.

With one final glance out of the airplane window, we say goodbye to an incredible chapter of our lives.
