Описание: The Feast of Nativity of Our Beloved Mother Mary was celebrated on 14th Sept’ 2025 at St. Anthony Church – Vakola, Mumbai. The procession started at 5.45 pm in the evening, after the procession the priest offered prayers and hymns were sung in honour of Blessed Mother Mary. During the Konkani hymn “Moriyek Hogallsiya” all the parishioners took active participation in this hymn. Birthday celebration brings joy and happiness to the celebrant and to the family and friends. Next to birth of Lord Jesus, Mary’s birth offers greatest possible happiness to the world. The Holy Church looks on her as the Mother of God.

St. Augustine linked the birth of Mary to the unfolding of God’s redemptive plan. He saw Mary’s birth not just as a human event but a significant moment in salvation history.
He used methophors like Mary being a “flower of the field from whom bloomed the precious lily of the valley” Mary’s birth has changed human nature and prepared the world for Jesus Christ’s saving work. We can see every human birth as a call for new hope in the world.

If Lord Jesus is the perfect expression of God’s love, then Mary is the foreshadowing of that love. If Lord Jesus has brought the fullness of salvation, then Mary is its dawning.

We would like to thank the parish priests, the nuns and all the parishioners on the feast of nativity of Our Beloved Mother Mary.
