There are nearly 200 different species of carnivorous Sundews (scientific name: Drosera) with sticky dew on the tips of their tentacles. They lure and trap insects with their dew, then curl their tentacles and leaves to secure and digest the prey. Charles Darwin once wrote "I care more about Drosera than the origin of all the species in the world".
These are all my own plants that I filmed in 4K timelapse to show the incredible action of these carnivorous plants. I am feeding the leaves a rehydrated, nutritious fish food instead of bugs. These videos are sped up by roughly 120x (1 second of video = 2 minutes of real time).
Featuring: Drosera hookeri, Drosera graomogolensis, Drosera fulva, Drosera capensis, Drosera menziesii, Drosera pulchella, Drosera scorpioides, and Drosera lasiantha.
