築50年経過 最後の真名団地「市が設定した期限すぐそこまで迫る」

今回は、千葉県茂原市にある「市営真名住宅」を訪れました。
今から約50年前の1970年代、日本が高度経済成長の熱気の中にあった頃、この団地は誕生しました。当時、周辺の工業団地で働く人々やその家族のために整備されたこの場所は、水洗トイレやベランダを備えた「時代の最先端」であり、多くの人々にとって憧れの住まいでした。かつては子供たちの笑い声が響き、299戸の窓にはそれぞれの家族の灯がともっていたといいます。しかし、時代の移り変わりとともに、交通の不便さや建物の老朽化という現実が押し寄せました。現役世代は利便性を求めて街を離れ、活気あふれたマンモス団地は、少しずつ静寂に包まれていきました。
そして現在、広大な敷地に住まわれているのはわずか3人ほど。市は建物の安全性を考慮し、2026年3月末までの全入居者の退去を決定しました。退去完了後、この巨大な構造物たちは解体され、跡地は新たな利活用へと向かう予定です。50年という月日は、一つの街が生まれ、その役目を終えるのに十分な時間だったのかもしれません。雪が残る静寂の中で、かつての暮らしの鼓動と、消えゆく間際の景色を記録しました。形あるものが失われる前にこの場所が確かに存在した証を。皆さんは、この景色をどう感じ、どのような未来を想像されるでしょうか。

This time, we visited the Municipal Mana Housing Complex in Mobara City, Chiba Prefecture.

This housing complex was established approximately 50 years ago, in the 1970s, when Japan was in the midst of its rapid economic growth. At the time, the complex was developed for workers in the surrounding industrial parks and their families. Featuring flush toilets and balconies, it was a cutting-edge development, and a dream home for many. The sounds of children's laughter once filled the air, and family lights shone in the windows of each of the 299 units. However, as times changed, the complex was hit by the realities of inconvenient transportation and aging buildings. The working generation left the city in search of convenience, and the once-vibrant complex gradually became silent.

Currently, only about three people live on the vast grounds. Due to concerns about the safety of the buildings, the city has decided to require all residents to vacate by the end of March 2026. Once the residents are gone, the massive structures will be demolished, and the site will be repurposed for new uses. Fifty years may have been enough time for a town to be born and for its role to come to an end. In the silence of the snow, we have recorded the heartbeat of life that once existed and the scenery on the verge of disappearing.
