This trail has been our regular preparation ground for the upcoming Persian Steps Challenge — perfect for building endurance and improving timing before the big climb. Today marked our 4th and final Saal session ahead of the Persian Steps hike scheduled for 15-Jan-2026.



Adding to the excitement, we proudly sported our new blue Adventure Buddies T-shirts 👕, with our tagline printed on the back. It was truly awesome to see everyone in blue — a sight to remember!



Coming back to the hike itself, Saal, a beautiful village on the outskirts of Muscat, offers one of the most loved and challenging trails among hiking enthusiasts. With an elevation gain of 420 meters over just 1.8 km, it’s a steep climb that seriously tests stamina 💪.



We began at 6:25 am, with a fantastic turnout of 23 Adventure Buddies, all ready to take on the challenge. The weather was cool and breezy, with temperatures around 15°C, and many buddies sporting jackets.



Nearly one-third of the trail features 600+ cemented steps, each one reinforcing what a high gradient really feels like 😅. Everyone climbed at their own pace, and some performances truly stood out — Sanjeev reached the summit in an incredible 34 minutes, marking the best-ever time for the Adventure Buddies group across all seasons! Not stopping there, he went on to complete one more round — exceptional energy and stamina 👏🔥



At the summit, we enjoyed the cold, windy breeze along with karak chai ☕️ generously brought by Ambika — the perfect reward after a solid climb. We spent about 50 minutes at the top, clicking photos and waiting for everyone to arrive. The descent was swift, taking around 40–45 minutes, and we wrapped up the hike by 8:45 am.
