Cave Diving Into 100 Miles [Pacific Crest Trail Episode 3]

Hiked 6 hot miles to Scissors Crossing where we got picked up by Trail Angel, Fossil Lady, and visited the town of Julian, California. Very expensive and busy town but we found a travel trailer Airbnb to stay in for 2 nights. Our bodies needed some rest. We filled up on yummy town food at Mom's Pies, Julian Beer Co., Cider Mill, and Miner's Diner.

Had a slow morning before hitching back to trail from a kind man who was passing through the area and had no idea about the trail. Spent about an hour waiting out the heat under the overpass and saw a desert turkey??? The climb was hot but so beautiful. Found a spot to camp on the side of the trail and stared at the stars and spotted starlink.

14 mile water carry but we managed to make it to a reliable water cache supported by locals. We took our afternoon siesta under a bush before hiking into the afternoon. Strong winds made their way in and we camped on an exposed ridge.

We woke up to a grouse outside our tent as well as rain. We didn't leave camp until 10:30am. The morning was wet and cold. We stumbled upon a hole in the rocks. A cave?? I must climb inside and drop a SpongeBob reference. Not much longer, we crossed 100 miles! Woohoo! Got to the bottom of the mountain and celebrated Cinco de Drinko leftover trail magic. Huge morale booster. Met some new hikers and walked through a field following the cutest bunny. Found a spot to camp near some cow water and cow pies.
