South Africa's 2026 National Budget is expected to focus on strengthening revenue, improving government efficiency and stimulating economic growth. The National Treasury says the spending plans aim to support vulnerable households while ensuring responsible spending. There's also a focus on stabilising public finances, as the country continues to manage high debt levels estimated at between 76 and 78% of GDP.
