After spending two restful days in Kisumu, I felt recharged and ready to continue my cycling journey. Kisumu is a busy lakeside city with big supermarkets, modern buildings, fish markets, and a view of Lake Victoria. Life there moves fast — traffic, crowds, and endless business going on every corner.

🥯 I left early and had mandazi and tea along the way. My goal for the day was to reach Kakamega, but soon after leaving Kisumu, I hit a tough uphill road that stretched for 3 kilometers. It was steep, and I had to walk the bike, struggling with every step.

💡 After 3km, I made a decision — change the plan. I turned off the steep road and rejoined the main highway toward Busia, the border town between Kenya and Uganda. That decision changed the day — and gave me an unforgettable memory.

🌍 I crossed the Equator Line! The moment was emotional — standing at the center of the Earth, right on the equator, felt magical. It’s the kind of moment I had dreamed of when starting this world tour. I stopped, smiled, and took it all in.

🚔 After riding 30 kilometers, I reached Yala, a peaceful town with a police station. The officers were kind and told me about a child care center beside the station. They gave me free accommodation there for the night. Safe, warm, and comfortable — I felt truly grateful.
