After checking out from my apartment in Nakuru, I set my goal to reach Molo, about 50km away. Nakuru felt like a true business hub — everyone is working, buying, or selling something. Today’s road was different… more peaceful, but also more dangerous. ⚠️
🛣️ I took a secondary highway, avoiding the main truck route. It was quiet and green, with few vehicles, and nature all around. But along the way, the silence came with a feeling of fear.
👀 I passed through remote countryside, where people looked suspicious. Some kids asked for money or tried to touch my bicycle, and a few were even carrying weapons. One local man warned me that a national strike is happening tomorrow in Kenya, so I had to stay alert and careful.
🍚 I stopped for a simple meal of rice and vegetables in a roadside restaurant. I also noticed that bike sharing (motorbike taxis) is quite popular in Kenya — an affordable way for locals to move around.
🚔 By evening, I reached Molo safely. There, I met a friendly police officer who kindly gave me shelter for the night and even showed me around. His help was a huge relief after a stressful day on the road.
