This video/image explains the clinical conditions Cubitus Valgus and Cubitus Varus, which result from variations in the normal carrying angle of the elbow (typically 13°). A greater angle indicates cubitus valgus, which can stretch the ulnar nerve, leading to weakness in the intrinsic muscles of the hand. A decreased angle is referred to as cubitus varus. The visual aid (Fig. 10.18) clearly illustrates the differences among normal, valgus, and varus alignments.
