What do you do if you overshoot in training?
What if your program said you needed to do a top set of 4 reps leaving 2 Reps in Reserve?
Your warmups feel sluggish and heavy and by the time you get to your top set you’re already doubting yourself.
The first rep is slow, and second rep feels like an all-out RPE 10 grinder, and the third rep doesn’t even leave the ground.
The workout is a disaster right?
Not necessarily. As far as I see it, you have two options. Either go home, eat, recover, and come back to fight another day. Or take it easy that day in the gym, and just do lighter work that you had planned. One bad workout isn’t the end of the world.
