In a shifting landscape where consumption of cannabis is legally permitted, healthcare, counseling, and social professionals and pre-professionals need accurate information and new approaches to more effectively engage and empower patients and clients to make informed and responsible cannabis use decisions. When working with individuals in the community, behavioral health counselors, therapists, social workers, etc. may be working with individuals with varying levels of risk. Understanding the legal considerations for cannabis use in Arizona, as well as person-centered methods for working with those we serve are necessary in an environment where cannabis use is legal for adult recreational use.
AzCANN is a 5-year cannabis education and outreach project. It is delivered by The University of Arizona Comprehensive Center for Pain & Addiction (CCPA) and funded by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
