HOW TO GROW PAPHIODEPILUM ORCHIDS! Caring for mottled leaf Paphiopedilums as indoor plants!

Описание: Hi, I'm Sam! If you want to grow Paphiopedilum orchids indoors, this video will explain exactly what you need to know!

Growing Paph orchids is a little different than growing the classic Phalenopsis orchids that are popular in stores.

WATER - Water once a week. I like to soak mine in tap water for about 10 minutes.

LIGHT - Bright indirect light is best, but you can put them in morning sun. no harsh sun though, or the leaves will burn.

SOIL - Paphs aren't actually grown in soil. Rather, they are grown in a mix of chunky bark chips, volcanic rocks, Perlite, and sometimes, charcoal and sphagnum moss. You can use many different things as long as it's a chunky, airy mixture that holds a little water.

FERTILIZER - They can be sensitive, so dilute whatever fertilizer you are using by 1/4 strength to make sure you don't burn the plant. Fertilize once a month.

Paphs are slow growers, so they don't bloom that often... but when they do, it is truly spectacular!!
