SITUATION: A 450-mm diameter spirally reinforced concrete column is to be reinforced with 8-20 mm diameter vertical bars and 10 mm diameter spiral. Use fc’ = 28 MPa and fy = 415 MPa. Use the simplified calculation for shear.
