This long run was a durability check.
2 hours and 10 minutes on tired legs. Fueling every 25 minutes.
Last 15 minutes steady pace.
The question was simple:
Can I hold this effort for 3–4 hours?
Early miles felt easy. Mid-run was quiet and repetitive. The final steady section tested posture, breathing, and control under fatigue.
This wasn’t about pace.
It was about resilience — physical, mechanical, and digestive.
• Stable energy
• No stomach issues
• Strong posture under fatigue
• Sustainable effort
That’s what matters in long trail races.
I’m currently transitioning from base phase into more specific work, and sessions like this tell me whether the foundation is strong enough to build on.
Consistency first. Performance later.
