There's a lot of grasshopper action around the bales and I catch a couple for Mum. Dad loses competence points at 3:32 when he lets a grasshopper I caught get away – but I catch it again. Mum and the chicks move on pretty early but Dad scores and Junior comes back.
I fished a couple of curl grubs out of the chook manure bales thinking Dad would feed them to Junior but... A quick peck at one and Dad he was done. The grubs went back and the one Dad moved looked fine.
The chicks cries might be a bit annoying but I'd rather have them about than not.
