The catalyst pedal is designed to be then best flat pedal on the market. It is the only pedal designed to give you enough of a platform for the entire arch of your foot vs just the ball of your foot. Providing optimum power transfer when pedaling and giving you a far more effective position for pedaling. Since using this pedal I’m way faster on my road bike and can make climbs that I was previously unable to do. I first purchased the catalyst evo and after 2 rides on it, immediately picked up a 2nd pair getting the original catalyst just to have and compare the 2. The original is slightly heavier, and has a different bushing system and different pins. The evo is light weight, has a more durable bushing system and offers better grip. Both are excellent pedals and after riding the catalyst I will never ride a different flat pedal. I even tried my previous pedals again and didn’t like them nearly as much, and those were pedals I’d ridden for 3 years. The catalyst pedal is the best flat pedal on the market and the only one designed to give you such a stable platform. Once you try them you will never go back!
