In the past 5 years, Martin Automatic has made a big investment in CNC machines to replace many of their old Bridgeports, including a Haas GM-25X 5-axis gantry machine. Other machines on their shop floor include a Haas UMC-750 5-axis universal machining center, two Haas VF-5 machining centers, a large Haas VF-11 vertical and two Haas ST-30Y turning centers automated with Haas Bar Feeders.
These upgrades have not only increased their productivity, they have enabled Martin Automatic to bring more work in-house to help control the supply chain. The modern machine shop has also helped attract skilled machinists to replace an aging workforce.
