Senate President Rob Wagner admitted that moving the transportation tax referendum to the May ballot was a political move — and that voter turnout for a primary election is historically lower than the November general election.
Nearly 4,000 Oregonians submitted written testimony opposing SB 1599 — on top of the more than 250,000 Oregonians that signed petitions to put the measure on the November ballot.
