January is Stalking Awareness Month.
This upcoming short session, Representative Kevin Mannix is introducing a bill that would create greater safety for survivors of stalking and domestic violence.
Kristil’s Law would require all phone/internet companies operating in Oregon to respond to search warrants within 48 hours of receiving a request involving stalking or domestic violence.
Right now, they can take weeks or months — when hours can make a difference between life or death.
