The bridge weigh-in-motion (B-WIM) system has the potential to be more durable, less disruptive to traffic, and safer to install when compared to the pavement weigh-in-motion system.
Researchers created a system that will give information, such as the truck gross weight and number of axles, while evaluating the bridge where B-WIMs are placed. Data received will assist TxDOT with future decisions regarding these systems.
