PUJ obstruction or UPJ obstruction is a congenital anomalies where ureteropelvic junction or pelviureteric junction is narrow or obstructed.
For children most common cause of hydronephrisis is PUJ obstruction.
It may cause hydronephrosis and progressive destruction of renal function of affected kidneys.
It may be asymptomatic or symptomatic.
USG, IVU and DTPA renogram are the investigation of choice for confirmation of PUJ obstruction .
Pyeloplasty is the treatment of choice for PUJ obstruction.
I like to do Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty for its excellent outcome .
