Poplar Island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay, Talbot County, Maryland. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have been depositing spoils from the shipping channel in the Chesapeake Bay to fill where islands once were and also where they never were. This flight shows the project as of April, 2013. Since then, there has been another 500 acres on the north side added to the project that is being filled now. Flying J-3 Cub around Poplar Island 800' on 4-5-2013, late afternoon.
