In this session, Henry McIntyre shares a hands-on journey into understanding what’s actually inside an encoded video stream. Starting from a place of curiosity, he walks through how video data and metadata are structured, how keyframes are identified, and how decoders interpret video data in practice. Using a real-world example built around OBS and a MoQ-based workflow, the talk focuses on learning by doing and demystifying the lower-level mechanics behind video playback and publishing.
