My friend Frank and I embarked on the Crown Princess cruise ship for a 15-day voyage to Hawaii from San Pedro, California, spanning five days across the Pacific to our first port of call.
Part 1: In Honolulu, we strolled along Waikiki Beach at the Sheraton Hotel, hiked to the breathtaking Akaka Falls, explored the Pana'ewa Rainforest Gardens & Zoo in Hilo, and experienced a bit of adventure when our tour bus broke down just before visiting the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Farm.
Part 2 - Click here: • Our Two Week Cruise To Hawaii Part 2 for our Submarine Adventure. After a one-hour delay getting to Lahaina, Maui, we finally boarded a tender boat to reach the shore. We spent a brief time at the nearest beach before heading out to sea to board The Atlantis Submarine. During the submarine tour, we explored the ocean floor, marveling at a variety of fish, sharks, and the Carthaginian, an old cargo ship that was sunk to create an artificial reef for coral and marine life. Due to time constraints, we quickly returned to the ship via a tender boat to ensure we were on time for its departure and overnight sail to Nawiliwili, Kauai.
