Dirt cheap managed APC enterprise PDUs - can we take control?

Описание: I bought a pair of incredibly cheap high end 15 year old APC Power Distribution Units from facebook marketplace with a few friends. the reset procedure doesnt really work, and neither does DHCP. Let's try breaking in to this thing with a cheap RS232 cable and telnet!

(reset PDU)
(spam enter until you get user name to show up)

(kill screen instance on Linux, let PDU reboot)
(spam enter in new screen instance until it shows username)

sudo su (enter)
arp -s (ip address you want the PDU to use) (PDU mac accress) (enter)
ping (ip address you gave the PDU in the last step) -s 113 (enter)
(remove ethernet from PDU, reset pin proceedure again, let it fully boot and restore config, solid green light on ethernet port with no cable..)
(plug in ethernet cable).
type in the ip address for the PDU in a web browser, and log in!
