ከአንድ አመት በፊት የኢትዮጵያ ቀይ መስቀል ማኅበር ከአሜሪካ ተራድኦ ድርጅት ጋር በመተባበር ተፈናቃይ ወገኖችን ተጠቃሚ ለማድረግ የሚያስችል ትኩረቱን በመጠለያ እንዲሁም በውሃና ስነ-ንፅህና አጠባበቅ ላይ ያደረገ ፕሮጀክት ይፋ አደረገ፡፡
ፕሮጀክቱ በ2.1 ሚሊዮን ዶላር በጀት በግጭት የተጎዱ ወገኖችን ህይወት ለማሻሻል የተተገበረ ነው፡፡ በኦሮሚያ ክልል አምስት ዞኖችን ማለትም ኢሉ አባ ቦር፣ ቡኖ በደሌ፣ ምስራቅ ወለጋ፣ ሆሮ ጉዱሮ እና ምስራቅ ቦረናን ያቀፈው ፕሮጀክቱ ከ100,000 በላይ ሰዎችን ተጠቃሚ አድርጓል፡፡ በመጠለያ ግንባታ፣ በውሃ ተቋማት እድሳት እና ማህበረሰብን በማጎልበት ተግባራት የማህበረሰቡን ህይወት ለመለወጥ እንዲሁም ተስፋቸው እንዲለመልም ተደርጓል፡፡ ግን ታሪኩ አላለቀም…
A year ago, in the heart of Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), launched the Shelter and WASH Emergency Assistance project to support Internally Displaced People and Host Communities.
With a budget of $2.1 million, this initiative set out to uplift communities affected by conflict. Spanning five zones of the Oromia region - Ilu Aba Bor, Buno Bedele, East Wollega, Horo Guduro, and East Borena - it reached over 100,000 people. Through shelter construction, water facilities restoration, and community empowerment, lives were transformed, and hope restored. But the story is not over…
