Try this Gaur Purnima Special Sukto which is a traditional dish made up of various vegetables blended with traditional spices cooked together in a unique poppy seeds gravy to give a wonderful Sukto which is one of the favourite dishes of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Servings: 5 to 6

Ingredients:

4 tbsp poppy seeds/ khus khus
1 tsp mustard seeds
½ cup water
1 raw banana
1 bitter gourd
2 medium sized potatoes
3 small brinjals
10 to 12 long beans
1 drumstick
½ tsp salt for bitter gourd
1 tsp kalonji
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds/ sauf
1 tsp mustard seeds
¼th tsp fenugreek seeds
12 to 14 urad dal vadi
¼th cup mustard oil for frying vegetables
3 tbsp mustard oil
2 chopped green chillies
½ inch grated ginger
Salt to taste
¼th tsp turmeric powder
1½ cup milk
