Hundreds of Christians packed churches throughout Israel to celebrate Easter Sunday Mass, even as violence escalated on the West Bank.
At the church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, where Christ's crucifixion is believed to have taken place, all denominations banded together to pray and momentarily forget the unrest outside.
There was no sign of the growing Israeli-Palestinian tensions at Easter Sunday Mass in Jerusalem.
Priests and members of the clergy from all Christian denominations forgot their differences and prayed together.
Hundreds of locals and tourists packed the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
The church mark the site where Jesus is believed to have died on the Cross.
In a centuries old tradition, priests kissed images of Jesus and burned incense celebrating Mass for the scores of followers.
