January 2026: Winter Storm Fern in Pennsylvania, Snow Day, A Winter Drive In The Appalachians

It's a new year, but I'm off to a slow 🐌 start, which is perfectly okay. Sometimes, slow and steady is the best pace.

In this video:
I take you on a beautiful Winter drive along Route 924 in Schulkyll County. When the roads are clear and free of ice, but the tree lined roads are covered in a beautiful coating of snow, that's when I love to take a drive and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature's Winter season.

I also reluctantly took part in Winter Storm Fern. It wasn't like I had a choice. 🤣 Lower Luzerne County registered a little over a foot of snow. ❄️ It's definitely been a minute since we had that many flakes fall at once, so I made the most of it and enjoyed and extended snow day weekend.

I cooked tacos and nachos, cleaned my house and, watched football and true crime. I sipped coffee, light some candles and prayed we didn't lose power. Thankfully, we didn't.

I cringed at the heat running practically non stop due to arctic Temps that dipped as low as -20° wind chill while cuddle in my snuggle, running the water taps in a slow stream to prevent freezing. 🥶

And then I had to do the inevitable....shovel my side walk and dig my car out in 2° weather. But, we survived it. We are part time snow bunnies I Pennsylvania. 🐰
