At the European Development Foundation in Sofia, the Learning To Live project is opening a space for reflection on how learning itself is designed. Maja Danova, member of the Foundation’s team, shares how the early phase of the project is already encouraging the organization to rethink the way educational activities are created, delivered, and evaluated.
Through the project, the team is exploring new approaches that combine digital tools with blended learning methods. These practices not only expand the ways young people engage with learning, but also invite educators themselves to rethink their role in the process. Collaboration with partners across Europe is another key dimension, strengthening shared knowledge and creating opportunities to develop more inclusive and responsive learning environments.
For the team in Sofia, one of the most important lessons emerging from the project is the importance of listening. Listening carefully to learners—their needs, their expectations, and their everyday realities—allows educational activities to evolve in real time and become truly meaningful for those they are meant to support.
The experience reminds us that inclusive learning begins with dialogue. When organizations remain open to feedback and adapt their practices to the voices of the communities they serve, education becomes a shared process where participation, understanding, and belonging can grow together.
