Still House Plants is a band with a unique blend of post-rock: their incorporation of soulful vocals over cascading guitar strumming and angular drums is a combination unlike anything I have ever heard. It exists somewhere between math rock, slowcore, experimental rock, and ambient pop. I find their calm demeanor, minimalist attitude, and general open-mindedness very inspiring. Less is more! ///

These videos are a part of an ongoing series highlighting independent/DIY artists performing live music, mostly in and around Chicago. My goal with this series is to document these performances, to help smaller artists find new ears, and to help people in our community (and abroad) find cool new bands. I hope this will make the Chicago "scene" a more connected, supportive, boundless, and long-lasting community.
