100 Miles Of Running: What I Learned.
Recently I ran 100 miles in 24 hours and there were few things I wish I researched more because it would have helped me to have a better race. That’s why I decided to record Lessons Learned From Running 100 Miles so you can get prepared much better than I was. So I’m sharing with you 5 tips for 100 miles trail races.
Every ultramarathon will be different and you will always learn something new so make sure you will write down all the lessons because it will help you to become a better trail runner.
Just a word of warning…ultra running is the sport where every race is different and you may have done long runs and all was good just to find out that at the next run your body didn’t cooperate as previously in other long distances.
For me the biggest struggle during this 100 mile ultramarathon was lack of sleep. Like I was running and I still couldn’t keep my eyes open…that drove me mad… 😱
Food choices was another thing when I struggled, my stomach shut and I wish I trained more with liquid calories to test it out so I wouldn’t have to fight with solid food… 🙈
Now I know that for my next 100 mile ultramarathon training block I need to try more things and have that plan if this happens then I do x,y,z. Because like all this top ultra trail runners like Courtney Dauwalter says every run is different and you need other alternatives.
I can’t wait to start my next ultra marathon training and practising different things so I can smash running 100miles in 24 hours or even less!
