Merz, embarking on his first trip to China since taking office last May, is traveling with a delegation of
some 30 executives and said other business deals are in the pipeline.
On Thursday, the German Chancellor will travel to Hangzhou, a global tech hub, to visit Unitree Robotics, one of China's leading developers of humanoid robots.
Both China and Germany have pledged to elevate ties as they seek to rebalance relations amid global uncertainties.
