In this video I go over the differences between the Blues Jr IV and the Blues Jr III. Enjoy the eye candy as I cover these much needed changes! Love Your Tone!
Changes from BJ III are:
1. Main PCB: black with white markings, single-sided, and through-hole plated.
2. Tube socket PCB: black with white markings, double-sided, and through-hole plated.
3. Fixed bias removed: R51, R52 & C33 removed from bi-polar power supply.
4. Cathode bias added: R51, R52 - 270R cathode resistors; C10, C33 - 22uF cathode bypass capacitors; R31, R32 now connected to ground rather than fixed bias supply.
5. Reverb changes: input now taken from V1A plate before tone controls; Reverb tank is a Ruby Tubes RRVS-3EB2C1B (8EB2C1B); Reverb control treble bleed now C23 3.3nF, R61 820R in series changed from 3.3nF.
6. Gain stage bypass: C4 changed to 2.2uF from 22uF
7. Stage coupling: C8 changed to 0.022uF from 0.0022uF
8. Resonance circuit added in NFB path: C9 47nF, R60 100k
9. Speaker: transitioned to a Celestion Type-A 8 ohms.
