Part 22 of the Fadal VMC 4020 reconditioning series.
In this video we look at the Y axis ball screw assembly. We discuss more specifically the arrangement of the two thrust bearings at the motor side of the screw and the ball nut, it's wear and my plan to repack it with slightly larger bearing balls.
I actually ordered 300 1/8" stainless steel bearing balls. I payed 45 CAD$ (35.5 USD$) shipping included. So it's not an expensive gamble and if it works I'm gonna be ecstatic! :P
