The day after leaving Mykonos we arrived in beautiful Corfu. No excursions for us. Our money-saving strategy ;D
Years ago we visited Corfu on another cruise with our kids. Then we took a nice excursion where we hiked along the coast from cove to cove. Today we get to explore the little streets in the Old Town flanked by old Venetian style buildings. Eventually we made it to the entrance of the Old Fortress, also built by the Venetians who controlled the island for over 300 years. It is still impressive and we enjoyed climbing all the way to the Sea Tower and the great views of the city and the ocean from up there.
Afterwards we walked toward a small cove where a few people were swimming and decided to jump in! The water was clear and refreshing. We loved it!
And then it was time to head back to port. A short but well enjoyed visit.
Thank you Corfu for welcoming us. Tomorrow we will arrive in Malta. Another new country for us!
