Istanbul: More Places to Discover & Enjoy | Turkey (Pt.2)

Описание: Turkey seems to have endless places to discover and ways to get there. On this video we decided to go get a few items at the Historic Mall, but the joy is the journey there and back and not so much the destination. We decided on crossing the Golden Horn on a new bridge built only for pedestrians and the Metro. Wow! Easy to transverse and amazing views of the city! We walked through old streets and even encountered the Valens Aqueducts, built by the Romans and repaired and rebuilt by the Byzantines and Ottomans in later years. On the way back we used the famous Galata bridge with its many restaurants on the bottom level.

On another day we took the tram to the Kabatas Station then walked to Yildiz Park. On our walk we passed by the grand Dolmabahce Palace; which we would love to visit on our next visit; the clock tower outside one of the impressive gates, the Naval Museum; where they were having some kind of ceremony; and the Ciragan Palace, now a luxury hotel. So glad we walked there and got to see all that. The park itself was amazing, with tall old trees, pretty flowers, fountains, an emerald lake and many places to rest and take it all in. We highly recommend a visit here.

Last but not least, we share with you the very famous Istiklal Street. Maybe the most Instagrammable place in Istanbul with the nostalgic red tram and the many people that transverse this central and busy area. There are many stores, restaurants, historic buildings, museums and even a catholic church hundreds of years old. We visited this area many times and it was always a different experience. Warning: It gets very busy when the cruises are in town.
