This Xanesh boss guide will show you the Dark Inquisitor Xanesh abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Dark Inquisitor Xanesh fight. Mythic Dark Inquisitor Xanesh has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Dark Inquisitor Xanesh guide. Footage of Dark Inquisitor Xanesh for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or change when the Ny'alotha raid releases on live servers starting January 21st.

The key to Dark Inquisitor Xanesh in Phase One is handling the 'soccer' games of the Void Ritual mechanic properly. Outside of that, Xanesh's raid boss mechanics are limited. The tank will want to use a cooldown and position their back away from the wall for Abyssal Strike, and then swap afterwards. Players targeted by Soul Flay should run away from their souls to reduce damage taken. Everyone needs to move out of the Torment void wedges that emanate from Azshara in rounds of 3.

To do the Void Ritual, three players need to each get into a Void Ritual ring. Then, a Void Orb will spawn on one side of the arena with a portal on the other. ONLY the Voidwoken players that soaked the rings can touch the orb. They need to direct it around the arena and into the portal by touching or allowing the orb to touch them. It will travel in the direction that the Voidwoken character is facing. If it hits a non Voidwoken player Revile will kick them back, and if it hits Azshara, the edges or a heroic only Ritual Obelisk it'll buff the boss and do big raid damage.

On Heroic and higher, each Void Ritual will need a fresh team. Voidwoken players also need to be careful not to get to five stacks of Imminent Doom, caused by touching the orb too frequently. Everyone will need to avoid Ritual Obelisks and they'll make finessing the Void Orb into the portal trickier.
