Welcome to our tranquil corner in Tanjung Bungah in Penang! Here you’ll find stunning ocean views, cozy little cafés, delicious budget eats, the friendliest locals and maybe even a surprise visit from the local wildlife. Its a fantastic spot for slow travelers or retirees.
Unlike the bustling streets of Georgetown and the crowds of Batu Ferrenghi beach this seaside haven offers a calm retreat. This is a peaceful suburb on the northern coast of Penang and a hidden gem for those seeking a blend of natural beauty, relaxation and local culture.
We are looking forward to giving you a glimpse into a day in Tanjung Bungah life!
Waking up to another gorgeous sunrise with the Sea Eagles cruising high above the Straits of Malacca and views of Mainland Malaysia in the distance.
Then off for a peaceful morning walk along the beach towards the Floating Mosque. You’ll simply be listening to the gentle waves and watching the fisherman go about their daily lives.
Lunch is a short stroll to the Astaka Hillside Hawkers market where there is a large variety of options on offer. Just order, give your table number and it’s delivered quickly from the small kitchens.
With a large array of Restaurants and food courts around we head to one of our favourites Double Spoon. A fusion dining experience with a most gracious owner, friendly staff from the local school and incredible food this is a place we frequent regularly. Tucked in behind is the Sunflower Cake shop selling the famous Penang layer cakes.
As the day draws to a close, more time on the balcony with our resident Sea Eagles gliding by with their impressive 2 metre wingspan. What an amazing end to another wonderful day of retirement.
