Oddites Gameplay #3 - Backgrounds & Breezes

Описание: Oddities is a Work-in-progress collection of peculiar video games, made by myself, using Gamemaker Studio. I'll eventually publish, but in the meantime, I'll be posting gameplay footage and devlogs, for fun and posterity. Still no relation to the Mother Fangame or David Bowie song.

SKYRISE is the first and as-of-yet most finished project. Players assemble a tower out of various buildings, and collect cash to advance upwards, crushing things to clear space, and unlocking new, (increasingly volatile) buildings the higher they go. In this video, I show off some new pieces and backgrounds, as well as some exciting new bugs. (For those interested, the game needs to destroy the selected piece on game over to switch the phase; but was also trying to destroy it due to an explosion.)

The font you see here is my new baby, 'COSMIC SANS,' a lightly modified version of Comic Sans that I've been using in my code editor. Initially as a joke. Expect it to make a glorious appearance in many devlogs to come.

...The game's music is still a work in progress, despite the flashy new title sequence for my soon-to-be composer... For now I'm testing the audio system with some albums from my library- the title ambience is from Machinarium, by Floex; and Skyrise's tracks are from Windows96's latest album.
