The defence in the case of suspended Northern Cape Department of Health's Acting Head of Department, Doctor Dion Theys, has been accused of using delaying tactics. Theys's lawyers today applied for a postponement to allow them to make representations to the National Prosecuting Authority.
The court says they previously indicated they were ready to go to trial.
Theys is accused of fraud amounting to around 96-million rand relating to 2014 lease agreements for nursing students' accommodation.
