Book 13 Summary:
Odysseus is secretly brought home to Ithaca by the Phaeacians, but Athena covers the land in mist so he does not recognize it at first. She reveals herself, assures him he has truly returned home, hides his treasure in a cave, and disguises him as an old beggar so he can test the loyalty of those in his house. Together they plan the destruction of the suitors, while Athena goes to bring Telemachus back from Sparta.
