Bendigo is a town north of Melbourne in the central Goldfields Region of Victoria. It is famous for the massive amounts of Gold that was discovered in the 1800's Gold Rush. On the Easter weekend of 2011, Steamrail Victoria operated a set of shuttles around the boarder town of Echuca area with steam locomotive R761 and diesel locomotive T356 for the Echuca and surrounding locals. The train was transfered to Echuca on Friday evening departing Melbourne around 10.30pm. Seen here is R761 being serviced after the run to from Melbourne and prior to continuing North to Echuca early Saturday morning.
