In this video we're in transport from Perth to Pingelly where we'll stay the night. On the way to Pingelly we make a birding stop at Victoria Dam (a k a Victoria Reservoir), where we arrived at 9:30 AM. It was a very good spot for birding, we saw Red-capped Parrot, Ringneck, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, Western Gerygone, Western Spinebill, Western Thornbill, Varied Sitella, Splendid Fairywren, Grey Fantail, New Holland Honeyeater and Gilbert's Honeyeater.
We also made a stop en route before arriving to Pingelly (for lunch and check-in) when we saw our first Black-faced Woodswallows since our Top End loop.
In Pingelly, after lunch, we saw our first Purple-crowned Lorikeets when they noisily foraged in a flowering tree almost across the street from the café.
After check-in at the motel we made an afternoon recon visit to Dryandra Woodland and Lol Gray Picnic Area. We'll make a return tomorrow morning. We didn't see much worth mentioning around the Old Mill Dam and the Lions Village in Dryandra, but saw a group of Rufous Treecreeper at Lol Grey. That was a Target Bird here, so we were happy as clams!
When returning towards Pingelly in the gathering dusk we spotted our first Black-shouldered Kite perched in a dead tree :-)
